Table of contents for goat care

I have put this blog together as a starter manual to help those getting into dairy goats.   I know the learning curve can be steep and it seams like a lot when you're first getting started - dairy goat keeping is not for everybody and should not be taken lightly - start reading and researching your animals before you buy if at all possible.
The posts here are based on my own experience in goats (raising dairy goats since May 2004), and on the experience of others of whom I know and respect in the goat world - many whom have been raising goats longer then me.  These posts reflect how 'I' raise goats or are other ways 'I' recommend.  This is by no means the only way to do it - there are other people out there successfully raising goats in other ways.
The focus of my herd is mainly dairy - it's all about udder and milk - with the show quality goat being second in mind.  I raise mainly Nubian and Kinder breeds.  If you have a different focus for your herd a different management program may be better for you.  On this blog I also talk about suggested meds and dosages - I am not a vet - if you are uncertain of administering drugs to your animals consult your veterinarian.

Still under construction as I continue to add more info and get this built up.  If you ever have any questions concerning goats at any time, or just want to 'talk goats' - please feel free to e-mail me at -  KootiezKids@gmail.com

Starting in 2013 - I have sold off my kinders and added Alpines to the herd.

Happy goat keeping !
